Blog Buttons

My dear husband was sweet enough to buy me
Photoshop Elements for my first Mother's Day.

I am still learning, and should probably take a class or something
but like most things, I just fiddle around with it until I kinda get what I want...

Anyway, here's my first blog button.... It's for our "wish list" blog because my
mother in law
is always pestering us about what we want for Christmas.
(If only I could think of SOMETHING...)

Snoozing!

Well, I'm not a photographer but when you've got such a cute little subject, the camera seems to kinda go off by itself! Mandy over at a sorta fairytale is having a Photo challenge and the challenge this week is snoozing. I've had this picture for quite awhile but it cracks me up every time I look at it. No way would he sleep like this anymore!

Blog Etiquette

I feel so blog challenged! Everybody has cute buttons and links to everybody else's stuff all the time. I'm just lucky to get a post a week done. Anyway, I've entered into an AMAZING giveaway for a Cricut Cake!! I hope I win! And I hope I entered correctly too!!
I really need a lesson or two on Blog Etiquette! It seems so complicated!

My 1st Dollar Store Craft!

So, I've been totally obsessed with dollarstorecrafts.com and have tried several of the projects on there. They are so great and imaginative! But ever since I've found this site, I've had to go to the dollar store at least weekly! I just peruse and pray for inspiration to strike! I have always loved crafting (sewing, scrap-booking, painting, whatever!) but I've never been one to come up with my own craft. Well, I finally came up with something on my own and I'm pretty excited about it. And, I'm linking up to my first link-party! I hope I do it right!!

Without further ado, My dollar store craft project:

Can you guess what it is??
I've been eying these things for several weeks, and I knew they had to be handy for something. Anyway, a little bit of clear contact paper, my cricut and some spray paint, and we have ourselves some earring hangers!!

**Edit**

So embarrassed but apparently I somehow turned off my spell check! I think I've fixed everything but if there's one thing I can't stand, it's a whole stinking blog post full of spelling errors!! Oops!

Office Makeover

The office has made me sad since we've lived here. I don't like to go in there because it just brings me down. My husband's millions and millions of books are all over the place. He never picks up his desk and I can't because I don't know what's important (maybe he wants to keep all those candy wrappers and Dr.Pepper cans for something). I finally had it and decided I was going to make it over. We re-organized the furniture, I made curtains, and now we have double the bookshelf space we did when we started! Believe me, we need it!

Thank you, Skittles!

My husband is totally addicted to candy. It's his biggest (and almost only) vice. So, being the loving wife I am, I indulge him. Or maybe enable him. I'm not sure which. Anyway, this particular day, as I was checking out, I realized I forgot to go down the candy isle. I know better than to come home empty handed. I casually picked up a pack of Skittles and a pack of Starbursts in the check out. Well ladies and gentlemen, this day, it finally paid off. Later that night, when he opened his skittles, he noticed they were all GOLD. Not yellow  but GOLD. So he hastily reads the outside of the package and reads: "Find the Gold Skittles, Win $10,000!!" I'm freaking out. Then I grab the package out of his hands and read it for myself. The tiny letters read "you could" and "up to"... In the end we won $50!! It's not 10,000 but it is 50 more than we were expecting! And living on a seminary student budget, $50 goes a long way! So thank you, Skittles!!

Also, They are pictured sitting on my newly painted counter tops. ( You should have seen him when I grabbed his skittles and told him he couldn't eat anymore until I got a picture. He's such a kid.) You'll get before and afters when my kitchen is clean. The little dude and I have been sick so this place is in pretty bad shape!
